In his new position, Lippy will be responsible for providing executive leadership to the Award in its efforts to lift up the voices of children by honoring and recognizing those who dedicate their lives to them. His specific responsibilities include securing major sponsors, increasing nominations and continuing to raise the international awareness and scope of the Award.
Founded in 1998, the Kellogg's Hannah Neil World of Children Award is presented annually to an individual of any nationality who has made a significant contribution to the health, well-being, social environment, intellectual understanding or education of children. Founding Sponsors include: Kellogg's Corporate Citizenship Fund, America West Airlines, Bob Evans Farms, Inc., Mills James Productions, Ohio News Network, Partners in Marketing, Inc., HER Realty, The Kroger Co. and Lord, Sullivan & Yoder, Inc. "Due to the growth of this Award during the past four years, we felt that the appointment of an executive director was a necessity," said WOC president, Dale Hollandsworth. "David brings a great deal of national and international experience and a passion for the Award, as he was involved with the original conception more than four years ago. We really envision him taking the Award to the next level." "I am a true proponent of the Kellogg's Hannah Neil World of Children Award, and I am very humbled and excited to be given this opportunity," said Lippy. "By leveraging my national and international network and my previous experience, I believe we can continue to raise the level of awareness and support of this incredible endeavor on a worldwide basis." Lippy served as the COO of the First Investment Company in Columbus until 2000. He most recently served in what he refers to as "a most memorable and challenging role" as a stay-at-home father to his 3-year-old son. He is currently a board member for ITC Children Centers, a board member of Temple Beth Shalom and has been actively involved for many years raising money for a variety of children's programs on a world-wide basis. Lippy earned a bachelor's degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 1977, and a master's degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 1981. He and his wife Pam currently live in New Albany with two of their children: Carly and Harrison. |
