| Arlin E. Ness served Starr Commonwealth, a nationally and internationally recognized child care organization, for over 38 years, serving as president from 1981 to 2004. He is immediate past president of the International Association of Social Educators, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, founding chair of the board for Reclaiming Youth International and a founding board member of the National Resource Center for the Healing of Racism. He co-authored the book Re-educating Troubled Youth: Powerful Environments for Teaching and Treatment and more recently, No Disposable Kids. Arlin is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Social Work, holds an Honorary Doctorate of Laws degree from Albion College and has been a Mawby Visiting Fellow at Oxford University in England. Arlin is Chairman Emeritus of World of Children and now Chairs the Development Committee. |
