Chaim Peri, Ph.D. Honoree Kellogg's Child Development Award |

For 35 years, Chaim Peri, Ph.D., has worked to educate immigrant and disadvantaged youth in Israel. He is currently the director of the Yemin Orde Wingate Youth Village, located near Haifa in Israel. This is a home and school environment to more than 500 "at-risk" teens from 24 countries. Peri works to rehabilitate these troubled teens and teach them leadership skills. Yemin Orde's graduates have high university graduation rates and some have become leaders in their communities. Peri has also been involved in child-related organizations such as the Israeli Council for Protection of the Child, Veterans for Ethiopian Immigrants, and the Defense for Children International.
